No Fixed Address

Written by Susin Nielsen.
Published in 2018 by Tundra.

Felix Knuttson, twelve, is an endearing kid with an incredible brain for trivia. His mom Astrid is loving but unreliable; she can’t hold onto a job, or a home. When they lose their apartment in Vancouver, they move into a camper van, just for August, till Astrid finds a job. September comes, they’re still in the van; Felix must keep “home” a secret and give a fake address in order to enroll in school. Luckily, he finds true friends. As the weeks pass and life becomes grim, he struggles not to let anyone know how precarious his situation is. When he gets to compete on a national quiz show, Felix is determined to win — the cash prize will bring them a home. Their luck is about to change! But what happens is not at all what Felix expected.

This is probably the best book I have EVER read! This story swept me into the book and I read it all at once, because I loved it so much. there were points when i nearly cried and there were points when i laughed out loud.

No Fixed Address is a book about a homeless boy and mother trying to have a good life. Felix tries to stay positive, even if life has thrown him through a loop. Our Book Club thought that it was a great book to read that really brought us out of our comfort zone and into a new world and story topic. We liked how the main character really tried to stay positive throughout the book, even when times got hard. In all, while there were sad and disappointing parts, it was still a good read. On average, our club agreed that we would recommend this book to most friends. It received 3 out of 4 stars!
