Laura Monster Crusher

Written by Wesley King.
Published in 2017 by Puffin.

Laura Ledwick is… well… large. The kids at school don’t let her forget it, and call her by various names: Laura Largebottom, Laura Lardo, Lots of Laura–you get the idea. When Laura’s family moves to the next town over before eighth grade, she expects more of the same. What she doesn’t expect are the snake-like yellow eyes watching her from the forest. Or the mysterious rattling in her closet. Or finally making real friends for the first time. Or handsome uber-nerd Liam R. Kelp, who might just be the cutest boy to ever wear a Science Is Cool T-shirt. But when Laura finally discovers the source of the rattling, things take on a whole new level of weird. It turns out Laura has just been given the most important job in the world: Monster Crusher. Her role is simple: protect the earth from the horrors beneath their feet. Eighth grade is about to get a lot more interesting.

this is a really good book. it’s full of detail. there is so much that happens. when you start you cant stop.

This is a great book for people who crave fantasy and action although the book is rather long I would still read it again and again.

  3. General Stewart Elementary School

It is a very suspenseful with suspicious characters. The story if fun and exciting and sometimes scary. The ending surprised me! I thought it was really well written because there was a lot of detail put in, but not too much detail to make it boring!

I haven’t read a lot of books from different authors, because I normally stick with one series. I’m not sure why because these other books are so good. I absolutely love this book, it has enough detail to understand everything that’s going on but not too much too much either. I don’t mind it being longer because I could literally read it forever if there were sequels. Also, I love the plot twists!

this book was fabulous. it was freaky on major levels. I loved the part were Laura found the trap door. it really hooks you especially at night when your about to sleep, and you just want to pick up the book again. the most interesting hook was when uncle Laine was siding with the goblins so he could keep his family safe. you should read this book if you like magic and thrills. its most familiar with the hobbit. the book speaks to you. it knows how you feel and puts your feelings into the words.

I thought that this book was the best of all of them because it had lots of description. I like that Laura didn’t know who her swords until the end of the book. I liked that her uncle was almost the bad guy. It made the story better, especially when Laura punched Alison and she was smiling. I liked at the end how she thought everything was back to normal, but then she saw the giant spider.
